What is the difference between TePe™ EasyPick and TePe® Interdental Brush?

Cleaning between the teeth, also known as interdental cleaning, is important because it goes where a regular toothbrush simply cannot reach. If the plaque is not removed from between your teeth it can cause gum inflammation, cavities, and bad breath.

TePe offers many options for interdental cleaning, from floss to interdental brushes. When deciding between the TePe™ EasyPick (a rubber bristle brush) or the TePe® Interdental Brush here are common considerations.

TePe™ EasyPick

  • Used as an on-the-go option, and can be an adjunct device to other ways of cleaning. Many people use the interdental brushes daily at night, and then use the TePe™ EasyPick when they are out and about. Great for when stubborn food gets trapped between teeth.
  • High patient acceptance related to comfort and application.
  • 3 different sizes to meet the different spaces between teeth

In a randomized controlled trial (Abouassi et al., 2014), it was found that both rubber bristle brushes and interdental brushes showed a reduction in gingival inflammation after 4 weeks, but the interdental brushes had less plaque accumulation. Rubber bristle brushes had a higher patient acceptance for handling and application.

If you struggle with technique, the TePe™ EasyPick is a good place to start, but for the best plaque removal the goal is to use a TePe® Interdental Brush.
